Requests for gratuities

Please send an email with an explanation of your needs. There is a feeling in the Internet such as if it's online, it's free - sometimes even to commercially use the images. However, the permission of the author is always needed to use an image. Authors appreciate the respect to their work; please take into account that producing high-quality images is very costly, both in terms of the equipment needed, and of the time and personal skills devoted to producing a single slide.

That said, I usually grant free permission for using low-resolution copies of my images, to NGOs, scientific projects and students: more than 80 requests have been honored in 2001! Thus, if you like some picture and would like to use it non-commercially, please ask before!
