All subjects were photographed alive and in their own environment. No manipulation, freezing or anaesthesia were applied, as I believe these methods harm the value of a document. A few cases of restrained subjects are indicated in the captions. The slides -usually Velvia- were scanned at 1000*650 with a Nikon Super Coolscan 4000 ED, color and contrast-corrected, and cropped to 50%; a final light focusing filter was applied.
